City Invited to Move Ahead on Old Stage Road Property

Late last week Mauldin's administrator Trey Eubanks announced that the city had been invited by the South Carolina Department of Commerce to move ahead with status for the Old Stage Road property it .

The site is considered promising for a range of reasons, including its proximity to transportation sites as well as its industrial capabiities. The city will now select a firm to complete surveys and reports required for Step 3 certification. The deadline for completion is one year.

In a statement Eubanks said: “It is great to have results in this (city) council driven initiative and improve the possibility of bringing more jobs to our community.”

Jerry Howard of the Greenville Area Development Corporation, which has worked closely with the city on the site, said, “Achieving the designation of an SC Department of Commerce Certified Site will tremendously enhance the marketability of this property.”
