UPDATE: Third Arrest Made in Taylors Cold Case

Eric Lee Graham was arrested for murder of Amber Daniel, Chris Porcoro.

A third arrest has been made in connection with the 2011 murders of Amber Daniel and Chris Porcoro. Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said Thursday that 29-year-old Eric Lee Graham of Columbia has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. On April 3, 2011, Porcoro and Daniel were found shot to death inside a duplex at 2004 East Lee Road after the authorities responded to a fire call there. As uniformed deputies began to arrive and securei the scene, responding fire department personnel found the two victims, who had been shot. The fire was believed to have been set purposefully following the murder. Scott Lowe, 24, and Manuel Nicolas Granados, 18, were arrested in February. …

Greenville County Sees Decrease in Murders, Rapes

SLED released its 2011 crime database on Monday.

Violent crimes have declined slightly in Greenville County. In 2011, Greenville saw nine fewer murders and 18 fewer rapes than in the previous year. The county did see an increase in robberies, bucking a statewide trend, with 79 more robberies occurring in 2011 when compared to 2010. South Carolina saw a 21 percent jump in murders and a 7 percent increase in rapes in 2011, bucking a downward trend of the past generation. The other two violent crime categories tracked by state officials, and released Monday for the 2011 calendar year — aggravated assaults and robberies — fell from 2010 to 2011. Former Housekeeper Of Slain Eastside Couple Pleads Guilty To Federal Charges

Shirley Rogers pleads guilty to federal charges.

The woman who discovered Gary and Helen Wells brutally stabbed to death in their Terramont Drive home last October pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal fraud charges.  U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said Shirley Rogers, 52, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of fradultently using another person's debit card without permission and one count of using another person's name and personal identification number to complete the debit card fraud.  Judge G. Ross Anderson will sentence Rogers at a later date.  According to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, during and before September 2012, Rogers had been employed as a housekeeper for a family in Greenville, later confirmed to be the Gary and Helen Wells.     Near the end of August, 2012…

Arrests Made in 2012 Murder Case

Four suspects are being held on charges stemming from the December murder, robbery of Joseph Crite.

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said Monday they have arrested four people in connection with a December 2012 murder and robbery that occurred in southern Greenville County. On February 15, investigators from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office charged four suspects for the robbing, kidnapping and killing of Joseph Crite, 51, who was shot several times inside his apartment at 1 Lanford Drive, located about five miles west of Mauldin in the Gantt community in southern Greenville County. The GCSO said 17-year old Mercedes Nykisha Adams, 19-year old Muniashia Harper, 19-year old Brandon Dashun Adams and 22-year old Michael Antonio Anderson were arrested and charged with murder as well as criminal conspiracy.   In addition to the …

Second Arrest Made In Taylors Cold Case

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday it had made a second arrest in the 2011 murders of Amber Daniel and Chris Porcoro. Laura Campbell, spokesperson for the GCSO, confirmed Scott Lowe, 24 has been charged with murder. The announcement comes just two days after the arrest of Manuel Nicolas Granados, 18, who was reportedly linked to a firearm in North Carolina that investigators later determined to be the murder weapon.  While Granados' arrest warrant indicates his own statements put him at the scene of the crime, and the investigation links him to the murder weapon, the warrant for the arrest of Lowe specifically identifies Lowe as the shooter.  On April 3, 2011, Porcoro and Daniel were found shot to death inside a …

UPDATE: Coroner Identifies Person Shot, Killed Outside Apartments

Third murder in the past two weeks in the same general area happened at a White Horse Road apartment complex near Mauldin, deputies said.

UPDATE: A man shot Saturday night at an apartment complex a few miles frm Mauldin has been identified as Edward Goldsmith, 47, of Greenville, said Jeff Fowler, a Greenville County deputy coroner. Fowler said Goldsmith died at 10:50 p.m. while at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville News reported. Original story: Southern Greenville County has become a deadly place in the past two weeks. An unidentified man was shot to death late Saturday night at an apartment complex on White Horse Road less than five miles from Mauldin, Greenville County Sheriff's Master Deputy Laura Campbell said Sunday. Man Arrested in Local Nightclub Slaying

Fatal shooting happened early Sunday morning at a bar on the outskirts of Mauldin.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have arrested and charged 47-year-old David Adam Young of Greenville in the early Sunday shooting death of an unidentified person at a bar on the outskirts of Mauldin. The shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. at Bobby T's nightclub, located at 330 White Horse Road, said Deputy Jonathan Smith. Deputies found the victim lying outside the bar, reports said, and witnesses said the alleged shooter drove off in a blue Toyota. After a brief vehicle chase with authorities, Young was apprehended and positively identified as the alleged shooter, an arrest warrant said. Berea Home Invasion Ends In Shooting Death

Home invasion ends in bloodshed.

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting death in the Berea area that occurred during a home invasion.  At approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received a call from 28 Lora Lane stating that shots had been fired at apartment A.   When deputies arrived, they found 28-year-old Alali Shakoor Perkins Sr. in the driveway of the home. The incident reportedly began when two unidentified black males, approximately 30-years-old, armed with guns arrived at the Berea home. Greenville County Sheriff's Office confirms an arrest has been made in the stabbing deaths of Gary and Helen Wells.
