Forbes Lists Greenville Area Among Top Places for Business and Careers

The Greenville area ranks 58 among the nation's 200 largest metro areas.

Coming on the heels of its ranking as a booming area for manufacturing by a Wall Street Web site, the Greenville metropolitan area ranks fairly high on the new Forbes list of best places in the nation for business and careers, coming in at number 58.  Greenville, whose major industries are in technology and financial services, joined four other S.C. cities on the list. It was second only to Charleston (34), and outpaced Columbia (69), Spartanburg (121), and Myrtle Beach (161). The area, according to Forbes, is buoyed by 2.4 percent job growth and a cost of living that is 3.3 percent below the national average.
