Wisconsin Lawmaker Assaulted Woman After Pints 'N Politics Event, Police Say

Waukesha, Wisconsin – A state politician already facing a damaged personal reputation after being accused of sexual harassment is now facing sexual assault charges stemming from an April 8, 2011.

State Rep. Bill Kramer, R-Waukesha, was charged on Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with two counts of second-degree sexual assault with the use of force.

The woman involved in the April 2011 incident came forward after learning about the allegations in Washington, D.C., according to WISN 12 News. The woman told authorities she had been assaulted by Kramer in a parking lot after a Pints 'N Politics event in Muskego, WISN 12 News reported.

WISN reported that a representative of the Republican Party of Waukesha County told police that Kramer was "obviously intoxicated to the point that he should not be driving," and assumed the woman was giving him a ride home.

The 49-year-old Republican has already announced that he will not seek re-election. He went into treatment earlier this year after he was accused of sexually harassing two people while on fundraising trip in Washington, D.C.
