Younginer Takes Loss In First Start

Drive offense continues to struggle.

One bad inning cost former Mauldin High star Madison Younginer on Saturday night, in his first start for the Greenville Drive.

The right-hander allowed four runs--three were earned--in five innings of work against the West Virginia Power in Charleston, WV. But three of those runs came in the decisive second inning, which proved to be the margin of victory in the Power's 6-3 victory.

Younginer, who was on a pitch count, was making his second appearance for his hometown team after against Hickory at Fluor Field. Overall, Younginer was strong, striking out six and not permitting a walk.

But the Drive offense could not mount a sustained rally, struggling much as they have in the last week, when they've averaged less than three runs per game.

Greenville will try to snap a four-game losing skid when they close out their series with the Power tomorrow at 2:05.
