National Merit Scholars Finalists at Mauldin High School

We are honored to recognize 5 Mauldin High School Students who were included as National Merit Scholarship Finalists for 2014! These students were selected finalists from among 16,000 peers across the United States who applied and out of 1.5 million high school students in over 22,000 high schools across this nation. In South Carolina, there were only 188 other high school students recognized as finalist, placing these MHS students among elite company. These 5 students are among 24 Greenville County Seniors that are being recognized as finalists.

The students are: Kelsey Fuson, William Cummings, Nikita Deshpande, Zach Girvin, and Joshua Dunster (pictured above).

German Exchange Students

Mauldin High School is excited to announce the upcoming arrival of 16 German exchange students and their chaperone teachers! The students attend our sister school - Gymnasium-Lohmar - located in Lohmar, Germany.

Our exchange students will arrive after school on Monday, October 7th and will live with local host families. Starting October 8th, our exchange students will attend classes and events at Mauldin High School until their departure date on Thursday, October 16th. During their visit, the German students will travel to Charleston with Mauldin High School’s Club International members on Thursday, October 10th.

We look forward to introducing these students to our culture while also allowing our students to learn about our German students' families and experiences at our International sister school, Gymnasium-Lohmar!

The welcoming ceremony for our exchange students will take place at Mauldin High School's media center on Tuesday, October 8th at 8:45 AM.

Athletics

Congrats to Mauldin High School Senior Athletes Dre Massey and CJ Thomas for being recognized as Greenville Touchdown Players of the Week.

The Greenville County Marching Band Exhibition will be held Saturday, September 14th at North Greenville University from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. All Greenville County marching bands will perform their 2013 competition show in an exhibition, non-competitive, format for a panel of judges. The event is designed to showcase all Greenville County marching bands in one venue and to provide an expert panel of judges to give critique to the groups in preparation for the coming competition season. The event will culminate with all Greenville County marching band students playing together, as one mass band, “America the Beautiful” conducted by retired Greenville County Band Director Steven Gillespie. Admission to the event is $5, children 10 and under may enter for free. Please pay for admission by cash or check. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted.
