Students in grades 1-5 will receive their First in Math login information this week. First in Math is an on-line math program where students can work on math skills and earn “stickers”. Each week on the morning news, we recognize students and classes in the lead. We have set a school-wide goal of 3 million stickers! The administrative team will be giving more information about the incentive if we reach our goal. First in Math can be accessed at home, and several of the key modules work with iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch, and other devices.

This year, Fork Shoals will have a reading challenge each quarter!  This quarter, students may read 30 books or 500 pages.  Students and classes will be recognized as they meet the Reading Challenge.

The Parent Portal log in information can be picked up in the main office. Contact Lisa Thompson, attendance clerk, at 355-5000 for more information.

PTA is sponsoring the Reflections Arts contest again this year. Reflections is an arts competition that gives every student a chance to express themselves through visual art, dance, music, photography, film, and literature. This year’s theme is “Believe, Dream, Inspire.” We will accept entries through October 21. Our student winners will be presented with trophies at the December PTA meeting. Check out the PTA page on our school website for all of the guidelines and entry form. We look forward to seeing all of the wonderful student creations.
