'Furman Learning for You' Classes Coming to Mauldin Cultural Center

Fun classes for kids and adults from the university's continuing education office start at the MCC beginning next week.

Furman Learning for You, a continuing education program at Furman University for youth and adults, has a slate of classes coming up at the Mauldin Cultural Center. 

The classes are:

— Beginning Knitting, 6:3-8:30 p.m. April 9, 16 and 23. Heather Weber will explore the basics of knitting: casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, changing colors, and binding off. The materials list is online. The cost is $69.

— Keep Knitting, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 7, 14 and 21. Heather Weber will help increase, decrease, gauge stitches, choose yarns, and join in the round. Materials list online. The cost is $69.

— Scrapbooking and Papercraft Projects, 6:30-9 p.m. April 9, 16, 23 and May 7. Angie Smith will teach how to produce scrapbooks and paper crafts such as gifts and cards. Materials and tools will be discussed at first class. Estimated cost is $30-$45.

— Drawing Cartoons with Gregg Davis for grades 2-8, six-week sessions from 9-10 a.m. Saturdays starting April 13. The cost is $64.

— Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain with Gregg Davis for grades 2-8, six week-sessions from 10:15-11:15 a.m. Saturdays, starting April 13. The cost is $64.
