Photos: Local Boys in Blue Police the Democratic Convention

Contingent of GCSO deputies pulled extra duty this week in Charlotte keeping the peace and directing traffic at the DNC.

The Democratic National Convention, which concluded Thursday night in Charlotte, drew tens of thousands of delegates, protesters, onlookers, and the just plain curious.

Handling the human and vehicular traffic inherent at such a large event is more than the local authorities can handle, so law men and women from other locales lent a helping hand.

Among them was a contingent of deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, who pulled extra duty in Charlotte to help supplement their brothers and sisters in blue. For a glimpse of their work, check out the photo gallery above.
