Candidates Forum: State Senate Seat District 8
Held Monday at Stax on Woodruff road.
If the crowd at at on Monday night was any indication, there is a lot of interest in the race for State Senate 8.
A large group was on-hand for a Candidates Forum hosted by The Upsate Young Republicans and The Republican Women of the Golden Strip.
Chad Groover, Jim Lee, Joe Swann, David Thomas and Ross Turner will be questioned by panelists Rep. Garry Smith, Benjamin Buck (Vice Chair of the Upstate Young Republicans), and Kaaren Mann (President of the Republican Women of the Golden Strip).

The main themes that emerged were the ones that have been present at many of the stops the candidates have made during camapaign: How to become less dependent on Washington for funds, what to do about a bloated and corrupt system in Columbia, and how to effectively manage South Carolina's economy.
