Loud Car Stereo Systems Face Possible Confiscation

Ordinance passed by County Council creates three-strike rule.

If you receive a third warning for not turning down your booming car stereo, the county will require you to turn in your vehicle's audio equipment.

The Greenville County Council passed the measure on second reading Tuesday night, WYFF reported

On the third strike you'll have to appear before a judge, and if found guilty, turn in your equipment, the station reported.

"It's to expedite the process, make it less cumbersome and also to not cost taxpayers dollars to have officers going out trying to confiscate the equipment," said Council member Liz Seman.
