TV Show to Shut Down Southern Connector Toll Road

Starting Sunday, filming of Cinemax TV series will shut down the toll road through April 24.

Commuters who use the Southern Connector toll road will need to search for an alternate route come this Sunday when the Cinemax cable TV series Banshee comes to the area for a film shoot.

Connector officials confirm the nearly 18-mile toll road will shut at 10 pm. Sunday until 10 p.m. April 24 to film a segment for the pay-TV series, WSPA reported.

The road, also known as Interstate 185, will be barricaded and secured by law enforcement officers.

The closure could affect as many as 14,000 drivers daily, the station reported.

Banshee premiered on Cinemax earlier this year and is about an enigmatic ex-con posing as a murdered sheriff who imposes his own brand of justice while also cooking up plans that serve his own interests.
