Coroner Identifies Murder Victim

Victim was found Tuesday inside a residence on Springbrook Drive near Mauldin.

Update: A man found dead inside a home near Mauldin has been identified as 31-year-old Darilus Williams, according to Greenville County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis.

Greenville County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Williams' home at 303 Springbrook Drive near Mauldin early Tuesday afternoon after receiving word of a possible gunshot victim. The apparent homicide is still being investigated by authorities.

Williams apparently died either late Monday night or early Tuesday.

An autopsy of Williams is scheduled for today.

Original post: The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting death near Mauldin, according to GCSO Sgt. Jennings Autrey.

At approximately 12:30 this afternoon deputies responded to 303 Springbrook Drive in reference to a possible gunshot victim. 

Once on scene deputies located one deceased subject in the residence. Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit have been called in to investigate the incident, Autrey said.

The residence is located about 4 miles from Mauldin in the vicinity of East Gantt.
