Obituary: Robert A. Carbaugh of Mauldin

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at Cannon-Jones Chapel in Simpsonville.

Robert A. Carbaugh, 65, of Mauldin, South Carolina, formerly of Marienville, Pennsylvania, passed away March 18, 2013 at Diamond Health and Rehab, Simpsonville, SC.

Born October 28, 1947, at Kane Hospital, Kane Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Floyd Sr. and Anna (Johnson) Carbaugh.

Robert was employed at Bishop's and Anderson and Jackie Mauldin in the Mauldin area. He was sctive in the boy Scouts as a Cub Scout Master and Webelo's Leader. He was in charge of the Soap Box Racer's.

He enlisted in the Air Force after graduating from East Forest High School. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam in the 1960's.

Left to mourn his passing are his two sons John Carbaugh of Greenville, South Carolina and Mike Carbaugh of the home in Mauldin. Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers Eva Regina and her husband Bob of Tucson, Arizona, Floyd Carbaugh, Jr. and his wife Mary of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Curtis Carbaugh and his wife Suzanne of Marienville, Pennsylvania, and Elizabeth Harp of Stafford, Virginia. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to thank cousins, Ronald, Jeanette, Gary and Renee Carbaugh for all the help they have given and also the staff at Open Arms Hospice and Diamond Health and Rehab.

Friends will be received at Cannon-Jones Funeral Home, 603 West Curtis Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Cannon-Jones Chapel in Simpsonville. Rev. John Yost will preside. Military services will be held at Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC 29673.
