BI-LO Customers Donate Nearly $400,000 Locally

Money will benefit local and regional nonprofits.

BI-LO customers donated $399,382.44 to 12 local and regional nonprofit organizations within the grocer’s operating area during a six-week period when making grocery purchases, the grocer announced.

The BI-LO community donation program invited customers to donate at any store register from Feb. 20 to April 2. All funds raised will benefit local community organizations to enhance the lives of children, improve health and education, and nourish the hungry in their communities, the company said.

“We’re honored to support wonderful organizations that are committed to making our communities great. Many of our local organizations work hard to serve and improve their communities, and we’re dedicated to helping them in those endeavors.”

“BI-LO recognizes the important role that we and our loyal customers can play in solving issues and making stronger communities for everyone,” said Melissa Adams, BI-LO Winn-Dixie’s manager of charitable giving, in a news release.

“We’re honored to support wonderful organizations that are committed to making our communities great. Many of our local organizations work hard to serve and improve their communities, and we’re dedicated to helping them in those endeavors,” she said.
