Hey Mauldin: Five Things to Do This Weekend
Stay close to home and be entertained this weekend right here in the Golden Strip.
The Randall Bramblett Band will play at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Mauldin Cultural Center, at 101 E. Butler Road. Tickets are free but are required to get in the show. Call 864-335-4862 or go to mauldinculturalcenter.org.
At the other end of the Golden Strip in Fountain Inn, another band will be cranking up. The Farewell Drifters will also perform at 7:30 p.m. tonight in a show at the Fountain Inn Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, 315 N. Main St. Tickets are $15 and $12. If you need to burn off some work-week stress, try some Zumba tonight. Jennifer Edwins and Leah Einhorn will instruct Zumba from 6:55-8 p.m. for adults, and Zumbatomic for children from 6:10-6:50 p.m., at the Mauldin Sports Center gym. After you've worked up a sweat tonight, certainly that means you can treat yourself. Right? On Saturday, enjoy some excellent BBQ at the Mauldin BBQ and Family Fun Festival at Sunset Park from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. Click here for more on the event.
Also on Saturday, the Farm at Rabon Creek, located at 125 Phllips Lane in Fountain Inn, will host the Farm Fresh Antique & Artisan Fair, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The event is free, and will be held rain or shine. For more info, go to raboncreekfarmfair.com, or pinterest.com/raboncreekfarm.
BONUS: Soon, the growing season will be winding down, so don't overlook the area's Farmer's Markets. For farm-fresh goodies, the Simpsonville Farmer's Market will run from 8 a.m. till noon on Saturday in City Park on East Curtis Street. Also, check out the Fountain Inn Farmer's Market, from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, located at 102 Depot St.
