What Will You Do with Your $45? A Contest

Refunds starting to be issued.

Remember those times when you found some loose change between the couch cushions? Or when you found a crumpled up dollar bill or two in a pair of jeans you can't remember wearing. Well, something similar is happening to many households in Mauldin--only better.

The much-talked about $45 City Services Fee is being refunded. So, we thought we'd check in to see what the community plans on doing with their newfound money. Tell us in the comments section and the best (i.e. most creative) answer gets some Patch gear--inlcuding an iPhone cover.

@Melanie - Sounds like an excellent idea!

@Mauldin Resident - I don't see anywhere in the article where the term "fun and games" is used, but point taken.

I will cash my check and replace my purse funds =) I put a $5 bill in the lining of every purse I have as an "emergency back up" and recently my kids needed cash (which I never keep on hand and did not have time to run to the bank/store before school) so I emptied out my "emergency" purse lining funds for the field trip.

No creative but I recently lost my job so this will go into the lunch money for the kids fund!

I only had 6 hours of work last week...this adds 3 hours of pay to my short paycheck.

I cashed my check & put it right back into circulation. I bought flowers for my garden. I always try to shop locally in Mauldin as well.

Love all of these, but I'm going to give the nod to Joan for mentioning the importance of shopping local. Joan, shoot me an e-mail at shawn@patch.com.
