Canned Food Drive
The Mauldin High School Student Council is hosting a canned food drive to benefit Golden Strip Food Pantry from December 3rd to December 7th. There will be a prize awarded to all of the classes of the teacher who collects the most cans. See Amanda Robinson or Jamie McCay with any questions.
This Weekend: MHS’s In-Store Book Fair
Simply tell the bookseller that you're shopping for MHS; 15 percent of your purchases will be donated to MHS.
The fair will be held on the following dates at Barnes & Noble at Shops of Greenridge and Haywood Road, and all Barnes & Nobles nationwide. The fair extends to online purchases, too, at barnesandnoble.com. For local in-store sales, Navy JROTC will be gift wrapping. NOTE: For online purchases, use voucher number 10960631

Youth in Government excels at conference
Congratulations to the Mauldin High Youth in Government delegation for a very successful conference. In addition to the entire delegation winning Premier Delegation, the following individuals were also recognized for their excellence:
- William Cummings was elected Lt. Governor and awarded the Drew Everson Memorial Scholarship
- Paige Yanity was awarded Outstanding Statesman
- Patrick McKiernan, Jake McKinney and Ramy Armaly all won Best Bill Awards.
- Willam Cummings, Will Randall and Olivia Baddley were all selected to represent South Carolina as part of the Youth in Government delegation at this year's Conference on National Affairs
- Vicky Bham and Rachel Franzreb were selected as alternates to the Conference on National Affairs.
Parent Information Night - Financial Aid Workshop – Thursday, November 29
On Thursday, November 29, the Guidance Department at Mauldin High School will sponsor a Parent Information Night and Financial Aid Workshop in the school's auditorium.
Beginning at 6:15 p.m. parents of underclassmen are encouraged to come and learn about helping students navigate through high school. The guidance program, graduation requirements and post-secondary planning will be discussed.
Beginning at 7:00 p.m. all parents, especially those of seniors, are encouraged to come for our special College Financial Aid Workshop. Key topics will include: what is financial aid, what are types of financial aid, applying for financial aid, how is financial aid determined, how to increase financial aid eligibility, important dates and timelines, and much more.
French Honor Society Meeting – Thursday, November at 8:05 a.m.
There will be a mandatory French Honor Society meeting on Thursday, November 29 at 8:05 a.m. in Noralee Robert’s room B139. Please bring a new toy for Toys for Tots.
Freshmen Graduation Conferences to Begin
Beginning December 6 & 7 and also December 10-14, ninth graders will participate in small group graduation planning conferences with counselors. Career exploration, graduation, and post-secondary options will be discussed in a small group setting then individual time will be spent with students. Parents are invited to attend.
Students will receive notices on December 3 of the date and time of their conference. Parents unable to attend may also schedule a conference with their child's counselor on December 17-19. Graduation conferences for juniors will occur in late January and conferences for seniors will occur in the spring.
Carolina Academy for Educational Excellence holds SAT/ACT prep workshops

SAT Workshop Schedule: Saturdays 9 a.m. — 4 p.m.
— Workshop dates: Jan, 12, Feb. 23, April 20, May 11.
— Test dates: Dec. 1, Jan. 26, March 9, May 4, June 1.
ACT Workshop Schedule: Saturdays 9 a.m. — 5 p.m.
— Worskhop dates: Dec. 1, Jan. 26, March 23, May 18.
— Test dates: Dec. 8, Feb. 9, April 13, June 8.
