UPDATE: After Recount Turner Declared District 8 Winner
Representatives for Ross Turner and Joe Swann were both present at Greenville County elections office, along with state election officials for the recount Friday afternoon.

After a recount on Friday afternoon, Ross Turner has been declared the winner of the Senate District 8 race.
Turner received 2,784 votes in Tuesday's runoff. His opponent Joe Swann received 2,749 votes.
Turner will be certified by the State Election Commission at 3 p.m. Monday.

A recount is underway at the Greenville County Voter Registration and Elections Office for Senate District 8.
After Tuesday's runoff election, only 36 votes or .6 percent of the total separated Ross Turner and Joe Swann.
Conway Belangia and State Election Commission officials are conducting the recount.
