Katie Faith fell in love with the campus of Piedmont College.
A quiet, intimate setting in northeast Georgia, the Mauldin senior knew that would be the perfect place for her.
"I want to study environmental science," Faith said on Wednesday. "There's a marsh on the campus and it's small, it's a really beautiful place."
Faith signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for the school on National Signing Day. She was one of five student athletes who signed during a ceremony at Mauldin High.
Faith said Piedmont's coach had recruited her during a volleyball tournament.
"My club coach had heard about the school and about the program there, all good things," Faith said. "He also knew the coach and his reputation, so it made it easy for me to say, 'yes.'"
Faith is the daughter of Ken and Sharron Faith. She is a recipient of the Maverick Award, presented by the volleyball coaching staff.
