Mauldin Police Search for Suspected Armed Robbers

Woman alleges she was robbed as she stepped outside her apartment door.

A Mauldin woman alleges she was robbed at gunpoint late last week as she stepped outside her apartment door, according to a Mauldin Police Department incident report.

The alleged victim, who lives at an apartment at 901 N. Main St., said she was robbed the night of Oct. 11 after returning home from work. The victim said she emerged from her apartment to go back to her car for something when she was accosted by two black males outside her door.

The alleged victim said one of the suspects grabbed her by the shirt and forced her back inside her apartment, causing her to fall to the ground.

The alleged victim said one of the suspects placed what she believed to be a gun to her head and demanded to know where her money was. During the struggle, the victim said $100 fell out of her bra onto the floor, which the suspects allegedly took.

The victim said the suspects allegedly continued to demand where her money was, and both suspects entered her bedroom while the victim struggled to stand and get outside. Once the alleged victim began yelling, she said the two suspects ran from the apartment toward North Main Street.

The victim described the suspect that demanded the money as a short, black male with light skin. He was reportedly wearing a green hooded jacket with stripes, and had a white rag wrapped around his mouth. The victim said she was able to pull down the mouth rag during the struggle, and said she believed the suspect might have been a cousin of hers.

The other suspect, whom the alleged victim said held the weapon, was described as a tall, dark-skinned black male who wore gray coveralls — "the type people wear to work on cars," according to the incident report.

The report indicated that furniture in the alleged victim's bedroom appeared to have been rummaged through. The report also noted that the victim complained of pain in her arm and hips and that she was transported by EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about this alleged incident should contact the Mauldin Police Department.
