Haley, Husband Traveling to Trade Show in Japan

This will be the first time since 2003 a South Carolina governor has attended.

Konichiwa, Japan!

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and her husband, Michael, will visit Japan next week for the Japan-U.S. Southeast Association trade show.

According to the Associated Press, Haley will be the first South Carolina governor to attend the trade show since 2003.

The Haleys are a part of a 40-member delegation of state and local leaders. Michael Haley will pay his own way, according to the article.

Is that damned woman EVER going to stay in this state and do the job that she is being paid to do?

This is beyond absurd - I would like to know when Nikki Haley DOES work. I would like to request an audit of her days worked since she announced she would be backing Mitt Romney - better yet - go back to the Paris trip. These are SC taxpayer dollars that are being wasted on this woman - she has not accomplished one thing since she took office except spend money.
Do you really think Michael Haley is going to pay his own way. How many guard people do you know that is supposedly going to Afghanistan would be able to get out of training to go to a fun trip to Japan??? Nikki Haley pulling strings????

Hey Silver: I liked your first comment. Is her hubbie paying his way or are we and why is he going? Nice to know my son in law is in Kuwait and other SC Guard guys have been in all kinds of hell holes but hubby seems to get a pass. Even if he went, you know his assignment will be something like an Al Gore assignment that is daddy senator had tailored for him--miles away from any danger or real "soldier work". As far as the Gov going---damned if she does, damned if she does not---she does not bring business back, she is a spendthrift--- she does bring business back, especially a year from now, no one remembers.

It's a great day in South Carolina...when you're the Governor and you can travel the world at taxpayer expense.

40 people - why in the world would you need 40 people to go to a trade show??? This will be worse than the Paris Air Show and a whole lot more taxpayer dollars will be spent for nothing!! I am absolutely positive that there will not be another group there that has as many people in its delegation. Five people at the MOST should go on this trip. Every person that even thinks about calling Nikki Haley a conservative needs to look at her trip log and the results of that trip log - she has not gotten even one job from any of her trips.

Just for curiosity I went to the delta web site (don't know what airline her magesty will be using) to see what a round trip flight to Tokyo costs (I don't know if this is where the trade show is, just guessing) depending on the time the flight leaves a ticket for one costs between $5017.30 and $12,458.30. OUCH!!!!! I sure hope they get an excellent group/government discount!

Federal employees fly coach, I wonder what class Her Highness will use. An audit of this trip is a reasonable taxpayer request.

Hey Gunny: Since you brought it up, last I looked the current resident in the whitehouse, and the former speaker of the house availed themselves and their entourages of obscene liberties with our dollars as they travelled here and there, mostly on made-up federal business that required entire households and families as they go on holiday. The amount of money spent on the current resident and the former speaker, as they travel and vacation on the public dollar, is absolutely obscene and no matter what our Gov does, it will not even rate a notice compared to our "federal employees" and their embarrassing use of public monies. Why even these damn busses that our king uses to "campaign" are flown over to a location, which he then uses for a short bus stop tour; add a cost of over $1million per bus, all paid for by you and I, and you have another example of a freeloading pile of dung.

Hey Ambassador,
I agree with your opinion. Sounds like "calling attention to a gnat so we avoid the fly".
