Early this morning, the Mauldin Police Department arrested two employees at Hailee’s Sports Bar and Grill and charged them with violating the city’s alcohol ordinance. The ordinance states that no alcohol can be served after 2 a.m.
One of the employees was the establishment’s manager, Elizabeth Fultz, 23, who also had been cited on Sunday morning. On Tuesday morning at about 3 a.m., Fultz and another employee, Miles Nork, 25, were arrested and remanded to the Greenville County Detention Center.
Last week, Hailee’s injunction against the ordinance was denied in Circuit Court. According to Police Chief Bryan Turner his department contacted establishments in the city that would be affected by the new law now that it was about to be enforced. Hailee’s was among those contacted.
On Sunday morning, the aforementioned manager and a patron were cited for violating the ordinance.
Turner said that employees of Hailee’s denied that the ordinance applied to them when officers informed them of violations.
“In my opinion, these incidents show that the management of Hailee’s has no interest in cooperating with the enforcement of the ordinance," Turner said.
The city has been at odds with Hailee’s since the property it occupies was annexed in June 2010. A rendering of that conflict can be viewed in the right-hand margin of this page.

I'll bet Hailee's wishes they had continued to employ off duty Mauldin cops as security. They've had nothing but problems since they stopped. I wonder if the police are retaliating?

Rb,
Incident reports show that there have been regular calls for police to Hailee's since June 2010. If the police were no longer being used as security they don't appear to have been replaced.
Thanks for reading,
Shawn

Mauldin was wanting to be paid under the table, tax free money, in which the officers and their Superiors were demanding, this issue was brought up before the city council hearing... The city council turned a deaf ear to this and now it appears that Hailee's will be taking this matter on to Circut Court, and if they dont find Justice there, I am sure they will keep taking higher. Sled is also investigating Mauldin for allegations of selective enforcement and harrassment, in this whole Hailee's matter.
