As if Danielle Galyer qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Time Trials was not enough good news for Mauldin High School sports for one day, Sawyer Willingham made yesterday twice as nice when he won the Elite Youth USA Triathlon Nationals.

Competing in San Diego, Sawyer needed only 30 minutes and 29 seconds to swim 375 meters, cycle 10 kilometers and run 2.5 kilometers. He finished 24 seconds clear of his nearest competitor.

Sawyer is a rising sophomore and if his Triathlon results are any measure, he’ll be first in line when school starts later this month.
